Street style photographer Rei Shito recently attended the catwalks of Norway’s capital – and here she shares the smart look every Oslo fashionista is sporting now.
Rei says: “This was my first visit to Oslo Fashion Week, where the city’s trendsetters gathered in style for a three-day fashion fête. As I moved between the various designer shows and events, I caught a glimpse of Oslo’s current top trends, with coordinated, multi-piece monochrome sets reigning supreme.”

“Wide-leg trousers are everywhere this season! These voluminous bottoms stole the scene among many fashionistas at the shows. I saw a number of wide-leg trousers with high waists, but low-slung styles certainly predominated.”
“Less is more when it comes to tops, and make sure you show a little skin! Crop tops of varying shapes and forms were on display, from bustiers to vests and tanks – and belly buttons were out in force. The Oslo fashionistas’ combination of light, minimal tops with ‘heavier’, more voluminous bottoms resulted in a trendy triangle shape that flatters the figure by accentuating the waist.”
“I observed that the three-piece ensemble of jacket, vest and wide-leg trousers is the default fashion in Oslo – even better if the pieces match in monochrome style. However, it’s still quite hot this time of year, so incorporating all three items isn’t always practical, and many style mavens had pared the look down to two coordinated pieces.”
“But of course, there were still those sporting all three!”
“And yes, I would like to mention that this trend transcends gender. In terms of street fashion, Oslo is a city ripe for growth and evolution. What form will the city’s fashion future take? It’s hard to say, but I’m looking forward to it.”
