Street style photographer Rei Shito is back at her home the Japanese capital, this month sharing a look from an independent designer who caters to the modern Tokyo woman.
Rei says: “It has been a while since I brought you a style from Tokyo, so it’s high time!
“This is Nao-san, the designer behind a brand I discovered called Mediam. I was able to snap this shot at the exhibition hall that houses her label. The brand is tailored to more mature women, with her collections offering a balance of looks that are fashionably but not too trendy, and demure but not too meek.
“Here, Nao-san is wearing a striking design of hers with a fitted silhouette. The slightly transparent top and the long, tight-fitting skirt creates long lines for a trendy silhouette. As a bonus, since the pieces are shirred, you can pull the strings to adjust the length and vary the look.
“Since the overall effect of the outfit skews towards more formal or dressy, she has paired it with sneakers to add a more casual component and provide a sense of balance. A stunning look for any Tokyo woman.”
