Rei Shito: The Scoop – What’s In Store?

If fashionistas have one job other than looking fabulous, it’s finding things to look fabulous in. Street style photographer and fashion lover Rei Shito is constantly on the hunt for the coolest shops, classiest boutiques and most discerning second-hand purveyors in her quest to root out the pieces that best express her personal style. This month, we join Rei on that quest as she recommends three highly worthy yet very different stores, meeting with the owners to discuss each shop’s overall style ethos and try on some of their well-curated looks.

Litmus
Osaka

Rei says: “When I asked my Instagram followers for shop recommendations in Osaka, Litmus was the first name that came up! This shop is truly unique, curating a mix of vintage garments, avant-garde fashion and pieces from up-and-coming designers. The staff’s styling skills are the icing on the cake. My favourite thing I’ve bought here is a pair of black trousers, which you can see me wearing in the video above.”

IMA:ZINE
Osaka

Rei says: “I discovered this Osaka shop when the director, Mr. Tani, DM’d me on Instagram and we got to know each other. It’s a fascinating store that carries a lot of exclusive IMA:ZINE items designed in collaboration with other brands – items you won’t find anywhere else! They carry an array of eclectic styles, mostly for men, ranging from casual to avant-garde. My favourite piece I’ve bought here is the Tay Trong jacket that I geek out over in the video!”

Adelaide
Tokyo

Rei says: “Adelaide has been around for about 30 years in Tokyo – it’s an institution, and most local fashion lovers are familiar with it. Not only do they reliably carry all the latest trends, but you can even feel the atmosphere of the current style moment when you step into the store. It’s incredible how they keep evolving alongside the fashion world. In the video above, I speak with Sakiko. Her mother originally opened the store, and now it’s Sakiko’s time to take over.”
