Still reeling with style inspo from the latest fashion week circuit, Rei Shito shares a stand-out look she spotted in Paris, encapsulating the trendiest items of the season.
Rei says: “I took this photo at the most recent Paris Fashion Week – the subject is a girl I photographed at the Undercover show. And it’s no exaggeration to say that she’s on top of all the season’s most cutting-edge trends.
“First, there are those white net tights. I’ve seen these worn by fashionable people of all ages and genders lately. If you look closely, you can see they’re actually bodystockings, and she’s made a point to show the belly part a little.
“Hair bands, like the one she’s got on, are also in style right now. Last season, they were mostly spotted on fashionable experts, but this season they’ve joined the major trend items.
“I really appreciate her sense of balance here. Because she’s showing some belly, she’s got her jacket zipped up to completely cover the neck and even hide her face a bit. This sense of balance – some mystery, some skin – creates the ideal seasonal balance right now.
“In fact, you can see she’s rolled up the top to shorten the length of it, which is a clever DIY way to change up a look. If you want to wear a short top, but you don’t actually own a crop-length top, you can change the silhouette by rolling the hem up yourself. I love this creative DIY spirit of creating the silhouette you want in that moment.
“This is exactly what it means to dress freely.”
