“Nostalgia is denial, denial of the painful present.”
– Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris
It’s true that nostalgia leaves us stuck in the past, painting yesterday in pretty colours as we lament the difficulties of today. But you know what? Sometimes that’s okay. Every now and then, a trip back in time is exactly what we need to escape from a tough reality.
This summer, when it feels like nothing is as it should be, we’re journeying to a time when all was still right with the world – or at least it seemed to be, looking back on it now. We saved some space for you in our time machine: join us, and test what you remember of the enchanting summers of the past 20 years.
